Vangibath Masala Powder
Hi.. As promised, I am back with my recipe of Vangibath masala powder. This is a very simple recipe with just 6 ingredients and can be prepared very easily at home. Now, Vangibath powder is available nicely packed and easy to use. But as I always say and you all know, homemade masala tastes the best. And the store bought masalas/masala powders are no comparison to our very own homemade ones. I got this recipe from my aunt and it has worked wonderful for me, always.. So here's the easiest recipe of Vangibath masala powder.
Ingredients :
- Red chillies ( Guntur variety) - 20
- Byadagi chillies ( not spicy, gives a good colour) - 20
- Coriander seeds - 10tsps
- Channa dal - 3 tsps
- Urad dal - 3 tsps
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Dry coconut, grated - 1/4 cup ( optional)
- Dry roast each ingredient in a pan separately, in low flame.
- Transfer the roasted ingredients on to a plate and let it cool completely.
- Blend all the ingredients, in a mixer jar. Transfer on to a plate.
- If using the dry coconut, powder it separately. Add the powdered dry coconut and salt to the other blended ingredients, mix well and store it in an airtight container. Alternatively, grated/ powdered dry coconut can also be added while mixing the Vangibath powder to rice.
Vangibath powder
This Vangibath masala powder is used to prepare Capsicum Vangibath, Brinjal Vangibath and also it can be used in our vegetable stir fries or in any gravy recipes. It gives a special flavour to whichever dish it's added in.. Even though I keep store bought masala as a backup ( in case i have run out of my homemade ones), my family always prefers this Vangibath masala powder. As said before, it doesn't require a long time to prepare this. It can be stored for up to 3 months in an air tight container and little longer if kept in the refrigerator.
So, give this recipe a try and you will start loving it..
